Aloe polyphylla loves cool weather (it is fully frost hardy). In my experience, best kept cool, dry and shaded in summer (this applies to Sydney). Apparently this species thrives in New Zealand. It hybridises readily with Aloe maculata (=Aloe saponaria) to produce very vigorous, hardy and free flowering offspring. Good luck with your search for this beautiful aloe! Brian
