Subject: SCIARID FLY or FUNGUS GNAT

Hi all,
I need help with Sciarid Fly (or fungus gnat)infestation management. I have an massive infestation eating at my seedlings. Im sick of them! :/ I have tried sprays, which mostly kill the smaller seedlings. This also only kills the adults fly, it doesnt get to the larvea which is what does the damage. At a C&SS meeting I was told to sprinkle coco peat.. doesnt work! I want a solution that someone has used and experienced that works as i grow seedlings under lights. The environment (and medium) is perfect for seedlings and I acheive gr8 results this way, unfortunatley it is also perfect for the fly.
Please, I dont want replies with info about the fly or telling me not to use peat based mixes because 'I do'! and what I have is what I have! I have researched them quite extensively.
Hope someone can help... im trying not to go to the more expensive biological conrtol like Steinernema nematodes or Hypoaspis (which I cant find and I guess a cost/benefits analysis might indicate that what i save in seedlings and plants far outweigh the financial cost); also, the chemical Bacillus thuringiensis subspecies israelensis (Bti) can be applied to control fungus gnat larvae in container media... I think this is what I want but I cant find it???
Does anyone have the name of a good one that works and doesnt kill seedlings? If anyone can help or has better methods (for killing an infestation, I will look at control later) I would be very grateful before I loose the lot. Cheers, Adrian
