Sorry to see we'renot alone with this problem. Pyrethrium is a contact killer for both fly and larvea,unfortunately it does not last and regular checking and spraying is necessary. Recently we went about spraying for mealybug with confidor and with chemical left over I sprayed the seedlings and another area heavily infested with the fly, don't know if it's coincidence or not but the fly and larvea have gone from both areas.
I am also told a chemical called Webzone works but have not tried it.
