.The silver fae tread about, her rusted whips dragging at her hooves. She repeatedly called for Noel who seemed distant in his play. He was almost six months old now and his energy and excitement caused her to lose much independance. Her perceivers flicked up as did her pale and misted eyes, watching the chestnut heading out. She hadn't seen Bitter Sweet for a while, she hadn't even seen her leave. She quickly called to Valentine, Please watch Noel for me. She nipped the colt telling him to stay put as she was quick traveling over the snow.

As she caught up with Torch's Wind she nudged him with a concerned look in her eyes. As the sounds of the colt at play were brought to her ears she was sure that the Bitter Sweet one remained living. Never in her days had a colt be so excited while a mother lay dead in her cave. The soft clicking of her fragile hooves against cave stone echoed deep into the seemingly empty form. She halted, her pale blue eyes seeing a corrupt figure on the floor of the cave not to far back. Her voice was choked into her throat, her rusted locks veiling her left eye. Slowly her limbs collected as she moved forth, her muzzle tracing the scent of Bitter Sweet. She's alive...were the only thoughts that came into her mind at the moment.

The colt whined for his mother, and as a minute passed he could no longer hold himself back. His small and flimsy limbs pumped vigorously as he cantered after his parents. They were lost from his sight so he tried using his nostrils to capture their scent. He found it easier to follow the hoof prints instead and so he quickly trailed off into the forest. Suddenly all of the trees looked alike, and the hoof prints were covered with fresh snow. His dark cherry eyes flashed with fear. He took one more step and plummeted into a deep, deep hole. He peered up where only the smallest gap of light was held in the mound. His coat was damp and he shivered, the thin layers of cream and white doing no good to keep him warm. He released a cry, but that only brought more snow from the hole. He coughed and spat out the cold and unmelting form. He wept silently now, wishing he was back with Valentine and Stardust. He shook violently with the cold sickness that wrapped inside of him. He was going to die alone in the cold snow.
