Subject: Castle Hill

Having just seen a web page about the history of Newton and the new signs by Newton trust which have appeared around the paths of Newton, I feel obliged to inform you that Castle hill was and is not a burial mound. I know this as I was the site manager for the arceological dig on Castle hill in the year 1988. Will this town, and R Attenbough ever learn the facts ?
Please stop telling lies........Mr A
Castle hill was not a burial mound.
Please repeat after me
Castle hill was not a burial mound.
Castle hill was not a burial mound.
there that's better.
oh if anyone wants to know what the hill is all about, well it belongs to EH, who paid for the dig, which was run by North West Archeological Trust which is part of Liverpool University.
It's all there ready to be learned.
Now once again
Castle Hill was not a burial mound.
there thats better
Seems Attenbourgh is as bad a historian as he was a teacher.
