Subject: old districts/lost streets

A marriage certificate of 1860, registered in Warrington, gives residence as "Townsend". Was this in Warrington or was it in Newton?

A marriage certificate of 1890, registered in Warrington, gives residence as "Mill Street". Was this in Warrington or in Newton?

Also looking for old photos, to take copies, of the following areas:

Vulcan Brow (Terrace houses now demolished on Wargrave Road by Wargrave Inn)
Canal Street
Princes Street
Lord Street
Lawrence Street
Derby Row (pre renovation)
Manchester Row (pre renovation)
Derby Street

Manor Junior School
Selwyn Jones Higher and Lower schools

That should keep you all busy for now!

Thank-you.

Ian.

Hello, could you help me verify the existence of an old street in Manchester? My Gran, who's now dead, spoke of living in Turkey Lane in the early 1900's. A three storey house with coal cellar access from a manhole in the street. I know this isn't a lot to go on, but I would be grateful if you could verify for me . Thankyou.
