ST LOUIS- Many people think that there is panic in the city of St. Louis because of the Blues' struggle in the UHA preseason. The team is currently at a 3-4-1 record and is in 10th place in the Western Conference. Is there any concern here? This question came towards GM Steve Abrahamsen. "Well to be honest with you, I really don't care that we are 3-4-1 in preseason. Our guys know that we have the real season starting soon. If we had a chance to lose every game in the preseason, it wouldn't phase me at all. We are not playing bad at all right now,we are just waiting for some of our players to come around."
Another big question has been sophomore goaltender Brent Johnson. Johnson, has let up 20+ goals in 8 games. "Well, our plan going in was to give each goaltender a shot. Brent showed us we can do, and now it is Freddy's turn. We will know by opening night who will be our starter." Who knows if the Blues will be going after a primetime net minder or not. Abrahamsen has said that he will not go after a big named contract because of their current budget. The Blues are looking to 'crank it up' once the regular season begins.
