Date Posted: 17:08:48 03/11/02 Mon Long Island, NY - The New York Islanders are off to a good start this year in the UHA. At 3-0-2 the Isles are in 3rd in the eastern conference. "We have been playing really well, there's no doubt about that" said Mike Peca the Islanders captain and leading scorer. "We've just been playing our game. Everyone has been doing their jobs, and Ozzy(Chris Osgood) has been fantastic between the pipes for us." With a 3-0-2 record, .959 save percentage, and a goals against average of 1.16, Osgood has arguably been one of the hottest goalies in the league thus far. "Well, I can't take all the credit. Our "D" has been great, and our guys up front are doing a hell of a job back checking" said Osgood. The next couple of games will be a huge test for this team. First the Isles face a very tough Philly team then play the fast and offensivly capable St. Louis Blues. "Yeah, the next few games will be pretty tough but I'm confident that my guys can get the job done" said GM Chris Tynan. "We play games against very good teams all year long. This will be our chance to show this league that we can compete." [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
