What you have to remember Isabelle, is that you eat carbs, yes, but in miniscule amounts. I think Americans don't have the slightest clue about portions and eating things that don't come in wrappers. So this diet is completely dreary, dull, and unpalatable, so they eat less. I have to watch my carbs since I actually am one of the cursed "insulin resistant" ones, but I just avoid the processed crap. Simple. But this Atkins thing is a joke -
"oh you'll get fat if you eat rice (yeah a billion chinese are wrong!), carrots, and fruit!" give me a break! "I'm so fat, I ate 3 carrots yesterday and they went right to my hips!" I can't wait for the "If You're Not a Total Moron Diet" - hey maybe I should write it - you don't eat anything that comes in a friggin wrapper or box! Oops, that would never fly here. Instead of regular junk food, people reach for the "Lo-Carb" candies, crackers, energy bars, breads, etc. all with ingredient lists that could be stretched end-to-end from here to Vancouver with things that you can't pronounce unless you're a chemical engineer. Wow what an improvement.

PS: It's touching that you two still check this board more frequently than I do! We should try to post more so I don't keep forgetting about it ;)
