Subject: Episode Length

Would anyone know where I could go to find the airing lengths of all of the episodes. It is my guess that the shows being aired today, and several minutes shorter than they were when they were first aired.

Thank you.

Hi Harold,

In many of the Re-run versions of the show, I am sure that scenic shots or scenes are cut for time , if they are deemed not to move the story forward.

I don't know if there is a place where you can go to find the original length of each episode.

From season to season or even in some cases, show to show the length may have varied - depending on what the NBC network was wanting at the time.

But no question, some are cut short in re-runs. I have seen proof of this myself.

The Official DVD Seasons 1-11 of Bonanza, are available now on amazon.

Andy Klyde has worked very hard on these DVD sets, to insure original quality (and lenth) of each episode, plus fun, fan extras and "behind the scenes" photos.

Really a "Must Have" for every Bonanza fan!

Click on the link below to go to Amazon Season 11. Or search amazon yourself, and look for "The Official"DVD seasons of Bonanza.

Hope this helps.

Gary

50 minutes was the running time in a 60 minute time slot. 48 minutes of storyline and 2 minutes of titles. The remaining 10 minutes would be sponsors, intros and outros, promos and news.
