Hey, my name’s Ross, I’m a former Cameraman for the ACW, but that’s not important…So yeah, it all started when I was called to President Ty’s Office in Toronto. He told me he had got some new talent, and he would like me to be the official cameraman for this young superstar. Kinda struck me funny to give a new kid his own cameraman… but where was I to argue? I’d been out of work for some time. Seems that the CWA had the best line up of cameraman, and Amber and the rest of the interviewing staff wanted nothing to do with me as cameraman. I was lucky that Ty had even remembered me. Either way I may not have the credentials that some of these cameraman have, but I’d like to see them match me … Anyways, back to the matter at hand. Ty Started by sending me to Chinatown, which was not far from his Toronto office. I packed up my gear.. and got ready to meet someone who would change the face of this business forever… So at least HE thought.. I had my doubts.

I drove the van for about 20 minutes, driving rather fast to get a meeting with this kid. And wouldn’t you know it… When I got there he wasn’t there. After about ten Minutes and two coffees, a young kid stopped in front of my Van. I looked him over a bit, not knowing this was the same kid I had been sent to tape. I got out of my car as he was looking at something on the side of my CWA van, and he was quick to get in my face.

Street Punk: “So… You’re the one sent to me eh? What makes ya think youz gotz the skillz to hang wit me?” He asked demandingly.

The Kid obviously didn’t speak proper English. It was a little slang, however, Ty had told me the kid was from Tokyo, and he was as American as it gets. Obviously his parents were English speaking type, where he picked up his style of talk, well that’s a different story. I wasn’t about to let this kid ruin my return to filming though.

Ross: “Look, I’m just here to do my job kid… Ty says you’re a special case, so I’m thinking he was wise to pick a special person to keep up with you… to keep you on the camera.” I replied triumphantly.

The kid didn’t seem impressed. As I glanced at him up and down he was dressed rather strange. His clothes were bright, and loose fitting. Kinda a futuristic look. He was wearing some sort of old jump suit with a zipper from the neck down. On the front of it in small writing across the right of his chest read “Techno”

Ross: “I’m Ross…”

Its all I could get out, the kid was quick to intervene.

Street Punk: “Ty told me about ya, so don’t be talking like you some bad ass cameraman from the top of da list. You’re an old employee that he felt bad for cause ya had yerself a couple a kids.” The Kid said smiling.

Everything was clear now, Ty had heard about me getting stuck with my two children after my wife had died… So that’s why I am here. Talk about your all time Confidence crusher.

Street Punk: “Look, I don’t mean to bust ya chopz, but I’m new to da states. I don’t like it here and if it wasn for those slack basard cops in Tokyo, I’d be tearing it up at home… know what I mean? Anyways… Lets get going, you drive. Oh and by the way, I’m Techno.” The kid said hopping into the car.

I guess I could understand his reasoning, it sucks to be taken out of where you want to be, same thing happened to me when the ACW went under. However, now that I’m back I knew I couldn’t be choosey, so I was going to have to put up with this kid whether I liked it or not. He gave me directions through Chinatown, till we got to near the outskirts of the city. It was then he made me stop near an old abandoned warehouse. Confused, but obedient, I stopped… This is when things got interesting.

As we went inside, it was filled with life and color. An underground club of some sort. And what did I see when I stepped in? “Techno” Sprayed in big letters on the ceiling. As we walked in, everyone stopped and started chanting for the kid. It seemed he had been running some sort of underground operation, something I wouldn’t quite understand for some time to come. The rest of the place was covered in wild graffiti tags in every inch of the walls, floors, ceilings… you name it… it was covered. Loud industrial sounding music blared as kids roller skated, skateboarded, and BMX’d all over the place. It was perfectly designed, ramps, halfpipes… it was a dream land for skaters everywhere. I followed him, hoping not to get lost in the mass of people, and we walked into a door way. Seemed to be his room, it was huge.

Techno: “Welcome to my humble home. Maybe now ya understand my wanting a special person to be my cameraman, I can’t be havin some new person walking in here everyday now can i?”

He set his stuff down on a table, and walked across the room to a refrigerator, pulling out a bottle of liquor. It was obvious he wasn’t old enough to drink, but hell you think I’m going to speak up in place like this? Its obvious there is something special about this kid. He was quick to offer me some, however I quickly refused and set up the camera.

Ross: “So you ready to make your first appearance?” I asked him.

Techno: “Yeah get that shit fired up.”

I worked on getting it all set up as I watched him take off his jump suit. Under it he wore big baggy silver pants, and a large half buttoned up silver shirt. His style was unique… I couldn’t help to think he was from the future, funny how we always think everything is silver in the future is it not. He put on a dark grey beanie as I got it finished up.

Ross: “Alright man, here we go… 3…2…” I trialed off as I pointed to him.

He looked like he didn’t know what to do. He just sat there for a second… looking into the camera. Then he smiled as some girl busted into his room. He held up his hand as she started to speak, and she was quick to turn around and leave quietly. This kid was running something big… he seemed like a god to all these young teens. Finnaly he spoke up as the girl left the room.

Techno: “Ya know, I watched a bit a CWA over in Tokyo, we were lucky to get it on the tube, we caught a few Strike Zonez when we was lucky, then we caught the Pay Per View.. I noticed the lack of innovators though as I watched. I mean you’ve got tough competition an all… but… Where’s the innovation? Where’s the originality? I mean… come on.” The kid shook his head.

He was right… the CWA was full of Pretty Boys and Hardasses, at least that’s the way I saw it… rarely was anything innovative, seemed as if people were only using things that were given to them by the Great WWF…

Techno: “I know most of ya don’t know me… or probably even care who I am. But I’m going to tell ya anyways, because this goes out to everyone watching, not just you people in the back that make up this place. I’m a kid… Flat out. I mean, they say you turn to an adult when ya hits 18… but I don’t buy that shit… you’re a kid till you decide you’re a kid. Shit.. how much of an adult I be if I can’t even drink till I’m fucking 21.” He laughed a bit then smiled.

So its obvious he’s under 21, I thought to myself, but still no age given to him, and my guesses are he’s over 18, again though, that’s just a guess. He was defiantly new to this, but I found it funny that he tried hard to watch what he said, a lot of rookies I see come out here and just spit out bullshit to get attention.

Techno: “I’m commin to da CWA for one reason. I wanna show the world what I got. I’ve done it all in Tokyo, I’ve faught on the streets… I’ve been head of gangs… I’ve ran from the cops… HELL I was busted by da cops. But I never got a chance to show da entire world at one time, why people respect me. I never had a chance to show da whole world what I am all about… I never got a chance to give justification for da way I act. Two Strike Zonez from now… I get my chance…” He trailed off asking me to cut.

Of course I cut the camera, I mean, it’s obvious this kid was new to this, and he was nervous. He wasn’t a wrestler, he was some sort of underground god wanting to extend his reach. I wasn’t sure where this was going to go, but I’ll tell you one thing, I would never forget this day, because there was so much more to come from this young kid…
