ok, so hotmail was not working, so i decided the next best option was just to write a message to everyone here. let me tell you, i am really struggling with the typing because the letters are not in the right places ... well, some of them are not in the right places ... q a m z w : , ' ... those are the main symbols that are in the wrong places. here, i will type as if i am typing on an american keyboard, but i won't correct my mistakes ... i definqtely think thqt it is going to tqke so,e getting used to in order to type on this keyboqrd: it looks like i q, typing in q foreign lqnguqge; but i q, definqtely typing in english: the strqngest zord is: q, "am" becquse both the letters thqt ,qke up thqt zord qre in the zrong plqce: okqy; i zill go bqck to correcting ,y errors noz so it is eqsier to reqd: this is my third day in paris and i am having a wonderful time. i have already met some really interesting people. the first day, i was with two autrailan girls, a guy from south africa, and two americans. yesterday at breakfast, i was wearing my truman shirt and a guy came up and asked where i was from, i guess the shirt gave it away. anyway, i ended up touring paris yesterday with him and his 3 friends. all four of them had just graduated from montana tech university. we saw notre dame, the sacre coeur and monmartre, we climbed to the top of the arc de triomphe, and from there, you can see almost the entire city. we were there just as the sun was setting, and we saw the eiffel tower sparkle. every hour starting at 6pm, light on the eiffel tower turn on and it glitters for 10 minutes. it was wonderful!!

last night i had dinner at my friend elodie's house. when i was in france for 3 weeks in high school, i stayed one week with her and her family. it was great to get to see her again. now, four years later, my french is much better; so it was much easier to talk to her.

today, my partners are two girls from canada. they were my roommates last night in the hostel. i've had different roommates every night because i'm in a room with four beds, and people come and go alot.

tomorrow, i take the train to toulouse. my friend julien, whom i met at yellowstone this summer lives there and i'm going to stay with him for 4 days, then it's off to annecy. i'll meet my french family and then i register for classes on friday. i hope to go skiing with the guys i met yesterday from montana. they said they plan on skiing at charmonix next week, and that is only about 30 miles from where i will be. i gave them the number of my french family and told them to call me when they get into the area.

i hope everything is going well in k'ville, and i'd really like to hear from you guys. i miss you all!!

love, em
