I looove the comercials - the one at the begining was so funny and the one at the end was sad. I just crack up at Cordy and Doyles conversation about angel at the end of the scene when they film the ad
Cordy "Maybe we should get him a costume!"
Doyle "A costume?"
C "Well the guy's a bonified hero. Would it kill him to put on some tights and a cape and garner us a little free publicity?"
D "I don't really see Angel putting on tights - Oh now I do and it's really disturbing."
My heart just breaks when Doyle jumps over to the light and Angel is shouting "No!No!" and Cordy just seems to be parlised. Cordy and Angel are fighters it must have been horrible to stand there and watch their friend die and not be able to do *anything*. Then when the light fades and he's gone how they just turn and cling to each other. Can you imagine Angel of Sunnydale clinging to someone like that?
I loved Doyle but seeing how things turned out I kinda have to be glad they killed him off. To me Doyle provided a buffer between Angel and Cordy in the early days of their friendship, which was a good thing 'cause they probably would have managed to drive each other nuts before they started to change into people who could live with each other. By the time Doyle died they had each changed sufficiently that they didn't need the buffer of his presence anymore - they were able to find their own groove. I miss Doyle so much but his death allowed Angel and Cory to grow together.

"Hero" is one of my "best of the best" episodes, even with the Nazi demons. I was always upset we never got more of Doyle's history, of course. It's long been my belief that shelving IWRY for a Doyle-centric episode would have been a great idea. But the moment when Doyle tells Angel "The good fight, yeah? You never know until you've been tested. I get that now." defines what a hero is. I love this episode in spite of it's flaws.
