In reply to: Ann 's message, "Wondering if anyone had any advice or opinions on pageants in New Brunswick?" on 10:52:27 11/01/11 Tue

If you want the real-deal experience, you (or your friend/daughter/sister/whoever) might want to apply to represent New Brunswick at a national pageant, like Miss Universe Canada, Miss World Canada, or Miss Earth Canada. (I recommend the first one.)

That said, I have heard of 'Miss New Brunswick' pageants in the past. In fact, I recall there being two different ones that caused some controversy because people couldn't figure out who the 'real' Miss New Brunswick was. One of them was Miss New Brunswick, and I think the other was Miss New Brunswick International. (Both are easy to find if you google.) I think the Miss NB one is the more well-known of the two, but I really don't know too much else about either of them.

There are also quite a few small, local pageants - Miss Harvey is one that comes to mind as being a great small pageant, although it's obviously community-specific.

It's also worth noting that during my entire time in New Brunswick, I didn't see a single Miss NB at ANY events - so it appears to be a pretty low-profile title. (But then again, it is what you make it.) Hope this helps!
