Emerald Park, Saskatchewan is the home of Ailey Korneychuk a nineteen year old contestant representing Canada in Miss Supranational 2011. Ailey has been studying at the University of Regina in Saskatchewan but plans to continue her studies at the University of Ottawa this September in the field of neuropsychology. Not only is Ailey academically driven but has spent several years developing her dance potential. Since Ailey started dancing at the age of five she has taken dance classes in Ballet, Pointe, Lyrical, Contemporary, Jazz, Musical Theatre, Tap, Hip-Hop, Acrobatics, and Ukrainian Dance. She has completed exams with the Royal Academy of Dance Graded Exams and the Royal Academy of Dance Vocational Exams. Ailey has completed exams with both the Canadian Dance Teachers Association and the Associated Dance Arts for Professional Teachers in Tap and Jazz. She has also taken acting classes and performed in local plays. Through dance, Ailey has had the opportunity to perform with the Royal Moscow Ballet and at international competitions in the United States. She has previously volunteered with organizations such as the Social Cognitive Education Program (SCEP) center in Regina working with at risk preschool children, the Regina Food Bank, the Regina YWCA as a dance instructor, and has gone to numerous schools presenting the message of the 'Kind Campaign'. Ailey has also had the opportunity to model in cities across Canada and also had the experiences of competing in Miss Teen Canada-World 2010 where she placed in the top ten. This is where she found the opportunity to combine all of her passions into one element.
