They had an amazing time and took home positive things from the experience and have not had their feelings about pageants tarnished ( after what thier local 'director' has done to them they think this is par for the course lol). So, Leon the national director, took money from the delegates, apparently they paid him directly, and he failed to pay for the hotel or restaurant. The hotel owner was kind and gracious enough not to throw everyone out on thier butts and the directors, delegates, judges etc pulled together to make the show happen. There were only 24 delegates in total, in 5 categories, and with a $1500 entry fee, that we know some did not pay the full amount as promised *cough*Shannon*cough* (this is fact, straight from the top, she only paid a deposit, still owes $3000, could have something to do why she didnt show up with her 'team' as promised too), and I would guess that some others may or may not have paid, so its hard to have an event with no working capital, but it was his responsibility to secure restaurants and lodgings etc with the money he did know he had. He did get arrested, the girls spent thier last day in Jamaica in a police station giving statements. It really sucks to be Leon. I havent spoken to the franchise owner yet but from my understanding she did not attend as she was very ill. I would imagine they will be restructuring how they franchise their international events in the future! There were 3 delegates in the teen category, 3 in the Mrs/Ms, 1 in Elite and 7 in Miss, the remainder were in the Mr category and doing the math, that was the largest category LOL
