Subject: My thoughts on this question are a bit torn, b/c although I agree that a girl who is a true contender, but who may need some polish, training, or time to mature, should try again if she doesn't win the first time... There are girls who really should NOT return. I think as a potential contestant, you must be honest w/ yourself, and if you don't have some of the basic requirements of a winner (like the obvious - a beautiful face), I think they are wasting their time and money chasing an unattainable dream. And as for the point by the above poster saying that "not all girls are doing it for the 'win'"... of course they are. Everyone wants to win!

Well, my question then is, "What's a 'true contender?'" Kandace Krueger competed in Miss Texas USA five times before winning the title, going on to win Miss USA and placing 2nd runner up at Miss Universea. And she didn't even make the semi finals the first four times she competed at Miss Texas USA! I agree that if a young lady really wants it and enjoys competing, she should compete until she ages out or doesn't have the money to compete again. You just never know what the judges will want today, as opposed to last year! (NT)Pageant Pauley16:22:10 12/08/08 Mon
