In reply to: survey 's message, "How many times do you think a contestant should compete in a pageant, before they realize they should just give up, and it is not in their books to win." on 21:08:55 11/30/08 Sun

I am going to have to strongly disagree with the above statement. It is most certainly not true that all girls are doing it for the win and that everyone wants to win. I know many girls, including myself, who competed solely for the experience. I remember being shocked that I had made it to the Top 10, and I was not one bit disappointed not to win, or to be a finalist. Everyone's experiences are different. On one hand there are some who compete just to win. On the other hand, there are others who compete for the empowering experience that it grants.

Everyone who enters the MUC pageant wants to compete at Miss Universe. Otherwise they would choose a smaller and cheaper pageant to enter. (NT)--09:06:09 12/02/08 Tue
