I wonder if Joss purposely changed that Wedding scene so that Spike wouldn't come off quite as bad in this scene where she has to literally stop him?

I mean, if we had AYW with her saying it was over. HB where she in the original scene was very cold and bitter to him. NA where she told him he was not a part of her life. And then, after he has drunken sex with Anya, he tries to force himself on her, that really would be a disaster for the character.

I'm not a big fan of the "her lips say 'no' but her eyes say 'yes.'" That's an antiquated, circa 1950s, notion.

What the lips say should be the final word -- regardless of whether or not the guy thinks he "knows" how she truly feels about him.
