Guys,

There were a couple of models of Renault tanks.

Were the tanks involved Renault FT-17's or R-35's would seem to be the question.

I would wager that if the Germans were using French tanks they would opt for the R-35 over the FT-17 due to it's increased armor and mobility. If memory serves me correct most French FT-17's were assigned to police and anti-partisan duties by that time. The old FT was pretty obsolete by 1944. Most pictures in Bando's books show the R-35 models in Normandy.
