Subject: Painting Pictures

This is my response to a poem that was written for me...

How can I paint for you this picture?
With words, I’d like to share
When your expressions to me, perfection
How can, I then compare?

Both the painter and the poet
You reach and find the heart,
you bring this reader to her knees,
with visions of your art.

My friend, you have this magic,
With each word, that you release
with truth and endless passion,
You scribe out a masterpiece.

Seems I’ve written to you so many times
With words that I share in rhyme,
Still I wonder if you really know
Of what a struggle to define.

The sights the thoughts the touch
That you so beautifully express
Will forever be the memory
That makes me the happiest.

You are someone who is different,
And I think that I always knew,
That someday some how, somewhere
I’d find someone that’s just like you.

And even though you don’t belong to me
We both know, that, that’s ok
For what we have, it is a gift
That no one can take away.

My friend I love you, naturally
In a way that’s so unique,
And I’m hoping that you can feel it.
Because it’s in honesty, I speak.
