Slipping into Darkness

Walking along alone in the pouring rain,
with nothing in life to gain.
Sadness fills my every waking moment.
Black clouds follow me from sun up to sun set
I slip in to a foreboding darkness,
allowing it to swallow my very being.
I see a ray of light and hear a voice calling me,
saying reach out take my hand we will walk together
I reached up i found the softest hand, the light was her smile
She told me that she had been watching me for days
and decided to take the first step and speak.
As our hands touched the darkness fought hard to hold on to me
I started slipping away, falling back in.
Reaching out, slipping her arms around me
Saying oh no.... I just found you, and you are going nowhere.
We stood there arm in arm, face to face the darkness disappeared .
I realized then I found what I was looking for.
I found the woman I loved even before I knew her.
I found YOU
