Subject: I wish I was a Poet

Sometimes I wish that I could write
Of things profound with words so bright
With a pen and paper scribe such things
Of loves pure light and butterfly wings
Catching teardrops from a lovers eye
Beautiful sad things that make one cry

In nature too I'd find the words
Of wonderful creatures large and small
A verbal journey through green woods so tall
A quiet stop to listen by a waterfall
A tiny mouse, a giant Bird
The great wanderings of the mighty wild herds

Of Love profound and hearts forever beat
Exotic scenes beneath the sheet
A tall dark stranger gives a lovers kiss
Life with you would be such bliss
Emotions verbal oceans rise
Sweet sensations to surprise

But I am just a lowly man
I write my words the best I can
Sometimes I stumble for the best verb
Sometimes I fail to impress
But then I am just another small voice
So many real poets of better choice
