I have not md'd for coins since I had my old heathkit back in the 60's-70's. I am using a minelab 18000 and have had a very succesful year finding gold. In the course of the summer I have found exactly 78 cents in newer coins and about 14 oz.s of gold. My technique is low and very slow until I get a target and then it seems to work well if I speed up my swing to pinpoint and check the target. I guess I should go look for coins one of these days just to see if I can find any :)..........Bob
