I don't know how everyone else would feel about this but here is a suggestion:

Would it be a lot to ask that possibly a group of us who feel that we are "somewhat privileged" just by the fact that we don't have to struggle each and every day with having to care for and cope with personal family issues such as this one...get together and put a fund together for this fellow to finance the purchase of a GoldBug2.

I feel for people in situations such as this and while I do realise that money is hard to come by for most of us...for some every dollar every month goes for items of neccessity and there is absolutely nothing left most times for any form of entertainment or hobby that might deliver a temporary release from the constant work of caring for someone with an affliction such as this fellow's daughter has.

I don't know this person and I have to admit I haven't heard of Retts Syndrome before looking it up online just a few minutes ago...but by the sounds of it...it is certainly a serious affliction and not something I would wish on anyone to have to deal with daily.

A Goldug 2 costs about $630 I believe...at the moment there is even one listed on Ebay for $575 BuyNow price + $30 shipping so here's my suggestion...if we can get together enough people to contribute $50 each, it would take about 12 or so to have enough for this fellow to buy one.

From my point of view I would be willing to just donate $50 towards this and not expect repayment as I view his and his daughter's situation as a cause worthy of support. I don't know how the fellow feels about this though...he may want to repay just on the basis of pride and not wanting to take direct "charity from others".

Now I may be being a little naive and maybe too trusting but I feel for people in situations like this and I for one would be willing to contribute $50 towards giving someone who appears to have very few bright spots in his life...a chance to enjoy this hobby that we all love so much. If there are some other like-minded individuals out there that feel likewise post on this forum and let's discuss this further.

Darren
