Phil--- Sorry that you are "hanging it up." The Infinium is a bargain at that price. Booted up with the Australian 10-inch circular DD it could be a good "gold machine" choice.

Also, I suspect the "long-waited-for" Garrett "monos" to become available within the next month or so.

One "full-timer" has hooked his Infinium up with the 12-volt battery he uses with his Minelab Golden Hawk. He is claiming several inches more "depth."

Possibly the larger battery is giving him more "boost?" I am using alkali Mallory "coppertops" (and not the rechargeable pack) and changing the alkalies while still reading good. The "used" batteries are still good to use for other purposes.
