Excellent post Jim!

All to often all the hype and do-dads will convince a person that by changing detectors they will magically begin to find heaps of gold when in fact the problem was not the detector in the first place.

Having the best detector in the world will not help a bit if you don't know where to use it! Research and many hours in the field are the keys to success in this game and after that the type of detector comes into play as far as how much of that hard earned gold you will take home.

As Jim said once you have mastered your detector you will find them all capable of finding nuggets, but by again doing research and listening to other users you will learn which beepers work the best is which areas.
