The Minelab SD's are great machines. I have used a 2200 for about 3-years. I bought a Garrett Infinium from Steve H at ALaska Mining and Diving.

Look at the various "PI-type gold machines" as just another choice; such as the Gold Bug-1 and 17000 are both VLF-types offering other choices.

In the final analysis it is the operator's skill and persistence which finds the gold.

Chris Gholson has tested the Infinium for LT and my test will be out in the January issue of W&E Treasures.

I'm waiting for the Monoloops to become available. If the Infinity/Mono setup can detect a one-gram eluvial nugget--- wild, not planted--- at about 5-6 inches it will be all that it can be.

The depths I quote in the field test may be a little on the conservative side as my hearing-loss may have short-changed the actual performance. However, those by "Lunk" can be taken to the bank.

I really owe Lunk more than I can ever repay him; he is a true friend and a great credit to the hobby.
