Well I'll be darned, another ham radio operator.Great to hear from you Jim,I really enjoy reading your posts, and your series of books-"Follow The Drywashers"-fantastic reading!

I agree with you Jim RE: "operator skill and persistence", however, having the deepest seeking machine and coils are a must if you are looking for deep pieces-Eg. I thought that my XT-17000 was the cat's whiskers with the stock 8 inch coil, that is untill I bought a i5inch W.O.T. I have found placer that was loud and clear on the 15 inch that was simply not audible on my 8 inch. No amount of persistence or skill would have helped me in those cases if I had not had the superior depth capability!

Jim, I make this point in my latest post on Doc's forum(also on Chrise's forum) "Where is the extra power going" Note also Reg's answer to my post. I am now convinced that the transmitter output peak pulse power into the ground, of the Minelab P.I machines is vastly superior to that of the Infinium. Will they both find gold?-sure. But if you are trying for Max. depth Jim, then you have to have the Max power into the ground that you can get! Just my thoughts on the subject Jim,would be glad to hear other engineers and Tech's opinions on the subject!

Be well and keep swinging ....Bob.....w6pu@juno.com
