I agree guys, Richard Norton has some excellent books out on meteorites. Nice guy too.... I met him one year in Tucson, Az. where Bob Haag had one heck of a display set up, along with many of the other major dealers from around the country.

Other books for those interested in this field are some of the oldies by H.H. Nininger, and especially his autobiography of sorts.... To Catch a Falling Star. Super book that chronicles his lifes work in tracking down many of the major finds and falls in the U.S. in years long past. Anyone that has ever been to the Meteorite Crater near Winslow, Az. probably remembers seeing the old rock building ruins where you turn off I-40 toward the crater. This was the location of Harvey's original Meteorite Museum before he moved it to Sedona, Az. in later years. He talked much about that history in his books.

Another, specifically about Meteorite Crater (or "Meteor Crater" as they usually call it) is the book "Coon Mountain Controversies", probably the best work ever done on the crater and the early work there by Barringer.

Meteorites are a neat hobby, and God knows how many of us have passed them over by the hundreds of pounds thinking they were just "hot rocks"...... !

Ralph
