On the other hand, I still use my old trusty V-Sat for the smaller gold and a 10 yr. old 6000-DI Pro for my coin hunting. However, If I did more coin hunting I would probably upgrade to the DFX. One of my friends uses a 6000-D series one, the original over 20 yrs. old. And he can find coins with it no one else can hear. And he also measures his gold in pounds, although no one else I know comes close. Mine comes to about 3# troy in the 5 years I've had the SD. Moving on from a reliable machine is not to be taken lightly. A lot depends on observations of what others are doing, their success in the same area you are hunting, side by side comparisons. That's what happened originally when I made the decision to switch to the Minelab.
