I got a discussion going. However, I will say that in the final analysis, it is the guy or gal out using the machine, and not so much the "whats." What works for one person may not work for another. Remember we may all have "special-needs;" I have a hearing loss, especially critical with certain frequencies, I'm in my early 70's and swinging a pole-mount not so good. I can only last for so many bendable-digs; thus I want to pick and choose the targets that might be "better."

I have mainly concentrated on "one machine" and "one coil" for the past 3+ years; nuggetshooting, coinshooting, and even in organized hunts. I have banged the coil around and still on the original, but bought another for just-in-case. I pack this detector as a chest-mount in a well-designed accessory bag and can swing it all day long. The batteries last and last. No bells and whistles. I can flip into any of the three "all-metal" modes w/o looking and back and forth between disc, all-metal, and pinpoint. Ground balancing fast and easy.

In summary, I feel that any machine/coil can be the "best" if the operator has confidence that it is the "best." Come on, lets keep this rolling, what is best for you??? I am willing to switch.
