Subject: THE GROUND OF CIRCLE DISRTICT

Can any of you tell me what kind of ground to expect in the Circle District of Alaska? I will be going up there to dredge and detect in July. I got a Goldstrike the last of December, and frankly, I'm having second thoughts about it. It doesn't seem to be getting many glowing reports. I bought it because I fall into that catagory of the novice nugget detectorist, live in Kansas, and will not have too many opportunities to become real proficient with any detector. I did use it several days in Arizona, and found some places in the bottom of the draws where the black sands were so concentrated that the Goldstrike would go into "overload". Yes, by turning down the sensitivity enough, and running up the negative numbers enough on the threshhold, I could get rid of the overload. But then I throwed down a test nugget on top of the ground, and couldn't get a signal! So I'm wondering if I will get into the same problem around Central City. Ak. I'll be on Bonanza creek in the Circle District. Let me know what to expect if you can. Thanks
