Phil just posted to Finders again today:

"First of all, the Gold Mining Centre, is the Australian Importer/Distributor for Garrett metal detectors. All new releases for Australia, will be through the Gold Mining Centre. This new gold detector, will be released in Australia first. There is an Australian model, which has been designed for our conditions, including our type of interference. Information will be released on our site. By the way, this is an official notice of the pending release of the new Garrett gold detector."

Very interesting! I have to credit Garrett with going right after Minelab on their home turf. But I'm less than thrilled that I may have to wait for a US manufactured machine longer than the guys in Australia!
