Subject: Sunday Musings

Morning thoughts of little importance and in no particular order:

I was dragged out of dreamland this morning by what sounded like someone trying to start a car outside my bedroom window. Not being quite awake, I first thought was that my son had done something to his dad's car, which he'd borrowed last night to go visit his girlfriend, and that he was chugging into the driveway. Then I thought maybe someone was trying to steal the truck and was having a hard time starting it. I opened my eyes and sat straight up only to realize the sound was hubby's snoring.

My eye doctor switched me from steroid eye drops to oral steroids, hence this deer-caught-in-the-headlights look I've been sporting for the past few days. It doesn't explain, however, why, at 7 a.m. yesterday morning, when I heard a plane fly low over my roof, I jumped up and ran for the stairs. Headlines in this morning's paper: PLANE CRASHES IN TICONDEROGA: AT LEAST TWO PEOPLE KILLED IN SMALL PLANE.

Hubby was bumbling around outside my office door a little while ago. I went to see what was going on. He said he was having a problem figuring out how to recharge his power edger/trimmer. It took me all of 5 seconds. Is this a guy thing? When I took a test in 8th grade on cogs and gears, I got the highest score in the class. None of my male classmates came close.

It's amazing what you can find when you plunk "Michael Moore" and socialism into Google. From blackfive.net:

How Do You Know If You Support John Kerry?

So, how do you know if you really support John Kerry? Take this test (from JarheadDad and modified by me) and find out...

Blackfive Note: Give yourself one point for each statement that you agree with. Your score will be evaluated at the end.

1. You believe that the AIDS virus is spread by a lack of Federal funding.

2. You believe that the same school system that can't teach 4th graders how to read is somehow the best qualified to teach those same kids all about sex.

3. You believe that guns, in the hands of law-abiding Americans are more of a threat than U.S. nuclear weapons technology, in the hands of Chinese communists.

4. You believe that there was no art before Federal funding.

5. You believe that global temperatures are less affected by cyclical, documented changes in the earth's climate, and more affected by Americans driving SUVs'!

6. You believe that gender roles are artificial but being homosexual is natural.

7. You are against capital punishment but support abortion on demand.

8. You believe that businesses create oppression and governments create prosperity.

9. You believe that hunters don't care about nature, but loony activists from Seattle do.

10. You believe that self-esteem is more important than actually doing something to earn it.

11. You believe the U.S. military, not evil, tyrannical regimes, start wars.

12. You believe the NRA is bad, because it supports certain parts of the Constitution, while the ACLU is good, because it supports certain parts of the constitution.

13. You believe that taxes are too low, but ATM fees are too high.

14. You believe that Margaret Sanger and Gloria Steinem are more important to American history than Thomas Jefferson or Thomas Edison.

15. You believe that standardized tests are racist, but racial quotas and set-asides are not.

16. You believe Hillary Clinton is all about "progress" and not power. She just wants to help us out of the archaic system of governing that we've been subjected to since our founding.

17. You believe that the only reason socialism hasn't worked anywhere it's been tried, is because the right people haven't been in charge.

18. You believe Republicans telling the truth belong in jail, but a cheat, liar and sex offender belongs in the White House and you would vote him back in there in a New York minute (if you could).

19. You believe that homosexual parades displaying drag, transvestites and beastiality should be constitutionally protected and manger scenes at Christmas should be illegal.

20. You believe that illegal Democrat Party funding by the Chinese is somehow in the best interest of the United States.

21. You believe that the vociferous minorities who protest against prayer and saying the Pledge of Allegience in school have far more rights than the majority who believe in God and country and want these values to be instilled in our young children.

Time to score your potential to vote for John Kerry:
If you scored 1 point to 21 points, you are going to vote for John Kerry.

If you scored 0 points, you are going to vote for George Bush.

From Matt Drudge:

KERRY PASSES UP TERROR BRIEFING: 'I JUST HAVEN'T HAD TIME'
Fri Jul 09 2004 09:23:56 ET

Just hours before attending an all-star celebrity fundraising concert in New York, Dem presidential candidate John Kerry revealed how he has been too busy for a real-time national security briefing.

"I just haven't had time," Kerry explained in an interview.

Kerry made the startling comments on CNN's LARRY KING LIVE Thursday night.

KING: News of the day, Tom Ridge warned today about al Qaeda plans of a large-scale attack on the United States. Didn't increase the -- you see any politics in this? What's your reaction?

KERRY: Well, I haven't been briefed yet, Larry. They have offered to brief me. I just haven't had time.

Developing...

and also from Drudge, Kerry and Edwards seem to enjoy a different kind of hands-on learning: Lovefest

From The Daily Spork, you can view a computerized image of the evolution of Michael Moore if he continues to chew on his razor aa well as scrutinize the list of his upcoming movies: Mirror, Mirror on the Wall

After hubby complained one too many times yesterday about the console TV that has been sitting on the front porch since my return to NY, we are getting cable again. (HAH!) Cavuto, I'm comin' home!
