Subject: "Tis Christmas Season"

Hi there! Its Christmas Season again and Birthdays this month too.

My youngest son, Paul was born on December 6th and my granddaughter Samantha (David,my oldest son and Antoinette's)was born on December 5th. So this weekend we have two birthdays to celebrate. Then on the 9th, its my friend, Loretta's birthday.

I spent the afternoon at Samantha's house and brought her the sketch pads, colored pencils, and a large teddy bear, ceramic, to add to her collection.

Samantha was so excited she started to sketch the teddy bear that I brought to her. She told me that she wanted to surprise Daddy when he woke up from his nap. He starts work each day around 3:00 am. After Samantha finished the picture, which was excellent for a 10 year old, she signed and dated it and said that she was going to keep all the pictures in this book to remember them when she gets older.

The talent for drawing, sketching, painting comes from my side of the family. My grandfather was an artist and also had a job as a painter in Denmark, his homeland. He passed his talent on to my mother, then on to me and my baby sister, Lynda. Then my son David (my oldest) came up with a surprise one day and wanted to do a charcoal drawing. He drew the St. Petersburg Pier and surrounding area and I have had it hanging in my bedroom for years. Samantha told me that she would like to have her daddy's painting so this year I took it down and am cleaning it up for her. She will be happy to receive it. Hopefully, this talent will continue for generations to come.

Samantha also has a brother, Christian, and he 2 years old. He will be 3 in June. Mommy and Daddy are also born in June, so three birthdays in that month.

Well, as I said before, Christmas is coming shortly. We have been shopping quite a bit, but I think we have almost finished for the year. Now, I have to wrap all the gifts. We will be celebrating Christmas as David's house as we do each and every year.

My grandson, Christian, loves "Bob the Builder". He woke up today, came out of his room and the first words out of his mouth were "Bob the Builder----Cool!" He was watching Bob the Builder on TV and we wern't paying attention, so he yelled "Bob the Builder--BREAK". Bob's show had gone to a Commercial.

My son Andrew is away for awhile and he has gone to school and earned his apprentiship in plumbing. When he gets home he will be able to take care of all our plumbing whoas. His children, twins Brittany and Nicholas, we don't see very much. Once or twice a year. They are 11 years old now. Boy, the grandkids are sure getting big.

Well, gonna close for now. Hope you get a kick out of my little story. Sorry that I have been away for so long. I miss talking to you all.

Love from our house to your house!

Barbara (and sleeping Ron)

PS I'll tell Ron to write to you Laf!
