I think of all you who have sustained us for so long. I cannot sleep this morning. On Monday, December 22nd, Laf's oncologist told him he was too weak to take anymore chemo. He said Laf might have 3 months left and sent us home after ordering hospice.

The people from hospice began arriving on Tuesday, the 23rd, to assess all medical needs. The lion asked the hospice nurse how long she thought he had and she told him perhaps one week.

Wildman Barry and his two children spent Christmas Eve with us. The lion was too weak to come out to the living room on Christmas, so I took his gifts to the bedroom and he opened them one by one sitting on the edge of his hospital bed. I made his favorite Christmas foods and we enjoyed a late dinner together.

The lion speaks of getting back here to write and of other things he wants to do, but his days are numbered now and frankly, I do not expect to see him sit at his computer again.

I ask that you stay here with me for awhile. I apologize for not posting and keeping you up to date. I will try to write here as I can during the next few weeks.
