In my totally boring job working the corner (convenience store) tonight, I was reading the Readers Digest (February edition) tonight about a young man who was hit by a city transit bus. Miraculously, he lived but faced many months of pain and therapy. A couple of years later, he was participating in a bike race and was run over by a van. This time, he wasn't as lucky. He was a paraplegic.

Two months after the accident, and facing a lifetime of pain and what could be self-pity, he drew on his inner strength and pushed himself as atheletes do. I don't remember what all he accomplished, but it was enough to get a Readers Digest article about him. You see, he had the right attitude.

You, dear Laf, have never been short of attitude! And from your post, I can see that you still have that inner strength and attitude to get you through this next period of your life.

I am SOOOOO thrilled that you got to talk to Arden! I know that was a highlight to you. My prayer is that he will stay in touch with you and ya'll will talk again soon.

And as for Sexretary Sage... oops... I mean Secretary! *giggle*... it's so rare in life that we find someone who can love us truly and whom we can KNOW (in our knower) that we are loved and can love back freely. And it's so unfair that often, we find them and only get to share a short time with them. I know that every moment will be special and treasured by you both.

Both of you will be constantly in my prayers.
