A Lovely Weekend!

With the blizzard of 03 last friday, and every thing within reason closing down in Baltimore as it always does I had the chance to skip out of Dodge a bit early and extend my weekend a wee bit longer then normal.

It was a lovely weekend, our second together in our new house. We worked hard moving in furnature that has been stored since mid fall, putting things together, aranging things "just right" amongst the clean air and wintery background. Where crime is almost non-existant and people are freindly and you can leave your house and not lock the doors.

Saturday we make a trip (about an hour away) to see my mother-in-law and to pick up some of the stuff we have stored in her garage. She of course realising my wife and I were on cloud 9 with the excitment of moving stuff into our new home, decided to be a total bitch and go far out of her way to piss us both off as much as should could in the five minutes i stayed before leaving because i didnt want to listen to shit from anyonem much less her!

After attempting to not let the latter get the best of us we went home and finnished the weekend together having a wonderfull time getting out new place in order.

We departed our mountain hide-away Sunday afternoon. We stopped along the four hour journy back to Baltimore along the way and had a very pleasant dinner together.

We arrived home in Baltimore a little after 6pm. We immdediatly notice the stench in the poluted air of the city as we passed through it. The sirens that run on what must be non stop to the point where at times it seems they are in stereo. The snow near the road that is black with polution and the rudeness of the person who takes the toll money we have to pay near our house on the Interstate.

Minutes after walking in the door of our house in Baltimore we notice that it is very cold inside. Kandi goes upstairs to laydown because she is very worn out from the trip, then yells down the stairs to me "Joe, did you leave the puter room window open when you left for the lake?"
My answer was quick and posivtive "of course not" then i rushed upstairs to see what she was talking about. Looking around it was obvious what had happend, drawers pulled out, things knocked over, a huge window open in the middle of winter. Our house here in Baltimore had been broken in to and ran sacked.

They got money, a digital video camera, a gold watch of mine, some of my wife jewerly including the diamond wedding band of my mothers that was bought in 1937, and antique pocket watch given to me by my grandmother, our DVD player and all our DVD's, my wedding ring, my brand new Sony Play Station II and all the accesories that went with it including 5 games and more totaling what we can figure so far to be worth about 12 thousand dollors worth of stuff!

Oh yeah, it was a lovely weekend indeed!
