Subject: FRIPP family tree

Looking for any information linking Captain John / Johannes Fripp, of Fripp Island, South Carolina, or his descendants.
I am mainly trying to find his roots in England, possibly around Bristol.

I am trying to trace the parents of Brice Fripp (1835-1903) approx. Ann Fripp seems to be the main candidate but verbal information from my father(deceased)refered to an Mary Fripp. The family story said Brice was the illigitimate son of a member of the Birtie family, and was born in Drummord Castle. Certainly all other facts mentioned by my father, including Brice fighting in the Crimea War checks out. Any ideas?
