In reply to: Tired!!! 's message, "Sick and tired of the lack of etiquette recently at competitions!!! Where did the respect of staying seated go while people are dancing?????? The nationals doesn’t just revolve around you and your dancer. Have respect for the dancers on stage and their supporters sitting down watching them!!!!!! Watching the less elite age groups as well as the senior ladies rounds yesterday I was quite frustrated with it!!" on Fri, Oct 04 2024, 8:31:46"

We were watching one age group and the current world champion comes on stage, ready to dance. The whole auditorium went silent - honestly you could have heard a pin drop! The auditorium remained silent for the duration of her dancing then it went back to usual noise levels and activities. That continued even when the next dancers came on stage. One the adjudicators stood up, went on stage, grabbed the microphone and addressed the audience - saying "Every dancer who comes on this stage deserves the same respect that you have just shown those two previous dancers. Be quiet!". It worked - for the next 10 rounds or so.
