It used to be that new dance schools would start out with beginner dancers, teach them the foundations of Irish dance and train them up into the open competitions. It's a huge decision to move schools, especially with the knowledge that people like the OP will come to message boards like this to discuss it, even though it's none of their business. I think changed for the better, dancers should be able to move schools if their current school no longer suits their needs. It was always seen as a huge problem if a dancer transferred, dancers would leave dancing all together rather than go to a new school, teachers understandably took it personally and it was seen as things would from then on be difficult for the dancer, especially if the teacher was also an AD. At the end of the day, it's just dancing and if people want to try a new school, then let them, why would a TC want an unhappy family in their school, it's better for all if they (NT) -- move on and hopefully find a better fit., Fri, May 09 2025, 14:45:00"
