I think half the problem is Australian teachers deliberately being complacent or turning a ‘blind eye’ to it all, stil socialising with ‘colleagues’, wearing designer items, acting as if nothing has happened and continuing to be seen with those overseas as ‘friends’. Yes theyre probably trying to somewhat keep ID alive in Aus, but also aren’t shying away from the benefits and networking exposure it beings from still being associated with them. Think it’s a bit of a status thing, the perception of being ‘elitist’ whether it’s intentional or not. Don’t think all do, but it’s very obvious with those that do. Regardless of that, the lac of acknowledgement or ownership from those that have been involved with those that have been named, is likely due to fear of being excluded in the ID global community ‘status’.
