In reply to: Concerned 's message, "Is it too late to lodge my tax return?" on Wednesday, May 22, 05:53:08pm

Because you had your tax done by an agent last time, and if it is a normal Individual return, then you still have until 5 June to lodge your return - as long as it is through an agent again. Get onto it though because time is short! The original deadline was 15 May, but the ATO extended this. Lucky you.

The ATO are about to implement automatic Failure To Lodge (FTL) penalties for any late returns received after 1 Jul. In your case, if you haven't lodged your return by then, but then do so, you would be fined $110 for every month it is late, up to a maximum of 5 months. That is my understanding of the issue anyway.
