First time me and the Hybrid Soul guys heard Slipknot's
album...we were wondering how in the hell they managed
to sound so full in some of their songs. We found out it was because they had 2 percussionists as well as a drummer. Thats why they sounded so unique and heavy...
Nowadays It doesn't seem like the percussionists do much except for singing backup and jumpin about. So I don't really mind if they left.
I like their samples in the song...I'm certain it enhances their music...but I don't think theres a need for a seperate band member just for that task...
So despite all these things...Slipknot's music has always been very energetic and well composed...millions upon millions of fans all over the globe can't be wrong.
