Come on Corey...aren't you gonna come and help me with the deer-head soup? Hey I just developed a scrumptious recipe today that will tantilize the senses of the staunchest vegans.

First I boil a chicken in a lot of water and some salt for about two hours to make a nice strong broth. Then carefully strain out all bones, skin and flesh.
Be sure to get every tidbit of stuff out....put it through cheesecloth if you have to and get a nice clear broth. Then add four or five big peeled carrots and a head of cauliflower. After the vegetables are nice and soft, grind the whole shebang up in a blender until smooth. Then melt a whole pound of butter in a pan, and sautee a couple big onions in it. Lift the onions out of the butter when they are soft and a little brown. Put them in the blender with the soup and grind them up too. Add a cop or so of goats milk or heavy cream. Mix flour with the butter until its smooth and one cup at a time pour the ground up soup into the flour/butter mixture, stirring constantly. When all the soup is mixed with the butter and flour and its nice and thick, add a pound of shredded cheddar cheese and sprinkle with pepper.


When asked at the vegan event about the soup, you tell them its a nice Carrot soup recipe from the Moosewood cookbook. Tell them you boiled the cauliflower and carrots in water with a little sea salt and that you melted the onions in Parkay margarine. Tell them you mixed soy milk and a touch of soy parmesan for flavor. Then laugh yourself silly as they rave over the gourmet soup and how they'll wonder forever why they can't get it to taste as good as yours.
