It either means that you haven't cleaned out the liter properly and they don't like it.

Or the other cat let a little bit go and the now the first cat thinks it is the new litter tray.

It can mean they are fed up with you for either not being around enough or for moving furniture or doing someting else to change the enviroment.

Have you changed your duvet cover recently as some materials can trip the switch when they sit on it.

Or maybe ot just means they love you.

The answer is to stop feeding them and put them out to hunt at night they sound like poof cats anyway and Eric would hate to know there was a cat named after him that would let a crystal palace fan question his parenting without clawing them.
