Dear Friends
I use this term because if you are reading this you probably know or have a loved one affected by the terrifying
affects caused by having a stoke, so who do you turn to? Well there are numerous new friends out there who would only be too pleased to give you help and support, Wendy Anne Lake springs to mind, yep she's my mum.
Not being much of a reader or writer, this is a very rare occurrence for me as you can probably tell, why put keyboard to screen now you may well ask.
I read an article that my mum had recently written for 'authors for action' and the memories of my dearest loved one came flooding back, I refer to my Grandfather who we lost almost a year ago to the day, through old age and a stroke, its refreshing that my mum, although still grieving can lend her support to others, not just through the books she writes, but by the different agencies concerned with stroke awareness.
I, like my mum, spent many years looking after my Grandfather, so I also know how hard it is to cope, thats why I have posted this report to let her and others know there are friends who understand and only too willing to support you all, best of luck to you all.
I think 'authors for action' is a most helpful idea.

Steve a supportive friend and son.
