Subject: Changes coming to the Veil

Hi, everyone!

As I mentioned in my note at Messages, I have some big plans for the Veil. I'm posting them here to get feedback from everyone; let me know what you think about them!

First of all, I want to get a new message board set up, which will require registration. There are a number of reasons for doing this; it will help people get to know each other (I hope to implement a board that includes a private messaging system, and also profile and avatar abilities,) and it will help weed out spamming posts. I don't have the space on my server to set this up, but my husband has offered use of his server for this purpose. This will take a little while to get set up, but it will be worthwhile.

Also, I hope to eventually move the Veil to its own server. It is currently sharing space with a few other sites, and there isn't as much room to expand as I would like. Plus, wouldn't it be easier to remember theveil.com instead of grraargh.com/veil? ;)

Within the site itself, I want to add a section of ghost photos. Rachel mentioned that she had received some suggestions to this effect, and I think it would be a neat addition. I do agree with her, though, that only truly unique photos should be associated with the Veil. I don't personally possess any true ghost photos; however, I have several that I faked for a friend who is working on an RPG book. I know how simple it is to falsify ghost photos in PaintShop Pro, much less on actual film. I would prefer to work out a system of verification for photos submitted to the site, which I am trying to work out right now. I would like visitors to the Veil to be assured that the photos they're viewing are as authentic as can be determined.

Rachel also mentioned the possibility of adding EVPs. I, too, think this would be a great addition, but need to acquire some before I can put any up. (hint, hint) ;)

Eventually, I'll be reworking the layout of the site, but I have many things to get to before that happens. Just wanted to mention that possibility.

That's about it for now. If anyone else has suggestions/thoughts on improving the site, here's the place to let me know!
