I'm trying to read any and all that I can. At the moment I'm in the middle of the Han Solo books. I was reading Rebel Dawn, but I stopped midway to read the other trilogy. Yes, I like to read things chronologically whenever possible. ^^; I've also read...let's see: The first three Jedi Apprentice books (no, I am not above reading the kids' books, since I want to know as much about the timeline as possible ^^; ); Cloak of Deception; The Approaching Storm (which I actually really loved); Paradise Snare, the Hutt Gambit, and half of Rebel Dawn; Han Solo at Stars' End, Han Solo's Revenge, and part of Han Solo and the Lost Legacy; Tales from the Mos Eisley Cantina; Splinter of the Mind's Eye; Shadows of the Empire; The Truce at Bakura; The Courtship of Princess Leia; Timothy Zahn's Thrawn Trilogy; and oh, maybe half of the Young Jedi Knights books.

As for my opinions...well, I like The Approaching Storm, the Han Solo trilogy, and the Zahn trilogy best, I think. The Han Solo Adventures are okay, but I'm kind of plodding through them; never a good sign. Tales from the Mos Eisley Cantina started off slow but was surprisingly good; I always like reading side stories about bit parts. They can get really fascinating, and they help to flesh out a world, show that there are more than just the heroes in it. Splinter of the Mind's Eye wasn't too bad, but it was just plain weird, since it was obviously written after only the first movie had come out, so I didn't care for it all that much. Too weird for me. Shadows of the Empire was okay, and Truce at Bakura was, I thought, pretty bad the first time I read it...but the second time I decided that I actually sort of like it, even though it's incredibly cheesy and melodramatic, and downright stupid in places. ^^; Courtship of Princess Leia is highly overrated, I think. Luke powertrips, Leia seems out of character, and Han Solo is irrational. Not to mention minor inconsistencies with the rest of canon. The Young Jedi Knights books are astounding in their mediocrity. The Jedi Apprentice books are actually mildly entertaining, though the writing isn't very engaging, since they're obviously written for a rather younger audience. Still, the plots are okay so far. Oh yes, and I've also read a couple of the comic books, which mostly disappointed me (Jedi vs. Sith and Fall of the Sith Empire).

I think that's about it. Any and all thoughts, comments, recommendations you have are welcome! I'm out to read all the books, eventually, though that's going to take me some time... :P
